This is what makes us stand out from other competitors in the water. We test not once but up to five times per suit! After samples get produced we fit them on surfers who then take to the ocean. We keep testing until we’re happy because when we’re happy, we know you will be too.

We care about every part of our business
Prior to launching SEPTEMBER, we met with many swimwear factories in Bali and throughout Indonesia. We wanted to ensure their labor and environmental practices aligned with our brand ethos. We knew we found our perfect manufacturing partner when the factory shared that they adhere to the Ethical Trading Initiative: Base Code of Conduct.
Most employees have been with the factory for over 20 years. Many of them bring in their own family members to work alongside and join the SEPTEMBER team. We ensure to uphold a high standard when it comes to the working conditions of the employees and their remuneration.
All employees are paid a base living wage which is 3x higher than the Indonesian minimum wage. In addition, they are paid per piece they sew, given a daily food allowance and paid overtime for any work completed past 5pm.
Interesting fact - majority of tailors who sew the SEPTEMBER suits are men. They tend to have a very good and steady hand for delicate stitching! This is where the help comes in from our fellow counterparts.
