*SEPTEMBER + W'MENSWEAR Collaboration*

Continuing on from the hand-painted seafoam camouflage concept that we explored for our first season with New York based surf brand 'SEPTEMBER', SS23 dives a little deeper.

This SS23 capsule is based on a painting called, ʻEvening Stormʼ, by W’menswear designer Lauren Yates. The painting itself was inspired by an unusual camouflage piece that Lauren found, dating back to WWII.

“This ʻEvening Stormʼ painting was inspired by an unusual camouflage piece I found that dates back to WWII. As a designer, I have always been fascinated by the relationship between ʻorder and chaosʼ as inseperable forces of the Universe. To me, surfing is the very act of riding that fine line between the two realms.

The cultural and technological revolutions that came out of war, run parallel to this idea. From the chaos of WWII, women moved into the workforce, found new roles in the family structure, and took adventure sports like surfing to new levels. Marge Calhoun, a self-taught surfer, part-time Hollywood stuntwoman, and mother of two who won the Makaha International in 1958 is an exceptional example of a woman who embraced the social change that WWII brought forth. This painting attempts to honor her legacy.”

The Perfect Surf Bikini

I love everything about the Lucky bottom (and the matching Eden top). I spent a long time searching for a bikini that stays *on* while surfing and this definitely meets that standard. It's also super comfortable and just slips on. The high waist and full coverage bottom are not only feminine and flattering but add a touch of modesty, which I truly appreciate as someone who seeks out more coverage in my surf and swimwear. Definitely my go-to bikini when it comes to surfing. Also, the Plum colour is LIFE! :)

Beautiful and functional

This was my second September swimwear purchase. I love the colors and always get compliments on the colors and the fit of the suit, which are the two attributes I am a fan of as well. They wash very well and look good over time. I was so excited to see you collaborate with another favorite brand W'Menswear! I had to snatch up a piece from that special collection. Thank you!

Great print!

Loved the print and the fit! Not too high waisted. Fits true to size. Medium coverage. For reference I ordered a small- I’m 5’2 and 118 lb, and quite curvy. Can’t wait to wear in the water!

Perfect!

I have been keeping my eye on September the Line since 2018 when I asked someone I met in Mexico where she got her super cute bathing suit. I like their pieces a lot, and as soon as I ordered a paprika print top, I ordered these Ivory bottoms along with it. I am 5'4" ~160lbs with 39" hips and a 28" waist. I went with a medium and they fit perfect. I was nervous about the color and it being see-through when wet (jury is still out) but I contacted September the Line and they reassured me it's double lined so I gave it a shot. The elastic around the waist band is not very stretchy, which gives me all of the confidence in the world that these bottoms are not going anywhere when I get in the water. I'm SO happy I finally grabbed a set and will definitely be ordering more.

Thank you!!
